Question by drakes8449: How do you know when to seek medical treatment for a tick bite? I week ago Thursday, I took a tick off my leg just above the ankle. It was just barely attatched. Now, I have a round red blister with white shiny top, with redness extend out from it a little. I realize that not all tick bites are infectious but how do you know when to get medical treatment. It is also tender to touch. Best answer:

if you are worried about ot go see a doctor, it is always better safe than sorry.
